This talk by Kevin Clark, a conservation accredited structural engineer specialising in the inspection, assessment and repair of historic buildings will explain the typical construction of Georgian & Victorian housing in and around Islington and the structural function of their various components. The talk will explore their inherent vulnerabilities from a structural engineer’s perspective, and through the use of several case studies will illustrate typical solutions to common structural problems informed by established guiding principles and best practice.
