“Consultation Meeting on Review of Local Plan
Islington Council is currently undertaking a consultation on its Local Plan Review, which is the basis for all of Islington’s planning policies and decisions over the next five years.
The Islington Society, along with other local amenity groups, is holding a public presentation on the Plan and an opportunity for input and discussion on Thursday 9 February in Islington Town Hall, beginning at 7.00pm, to which all members are welcome without prior notice.
This is a chance for us to contribute and affect the direction of planning in Islington. The Local Plan sets out how the development and use of land in the borough is managed. This includes providing for new housing and jobs, setting out what type of development will happen and where, protecting the built and natural environment, and the approach to other important issues including shops and services, design, sustainability, community facilities and transport. This consultation is aimed at canvassing views on the scope of the Review and the main issues which need to be addressed.
The consultation ends at 5pm on Monday 27 February 2017. You can view the consultation document and summary information and find out how to comment: online at www.islington.gov.uk/consultations; in hard copy from the Municipal Offices, 222 Upper Street N1 1XR; or for reference at local libraries.
